We love bedding from high-end retailers, but there’s no denying Amazon’s affordability and speedy delivery. So we tested some of the best sheets on Amazon to find a few especially nice gems worth investing in—whether you’re looking for the best linen sheets, options with extra deep pockets, the best bamboo sheet set, or moisture-wicking selects. They’re incredibly reliable options, thanks to the previously mentioned quick delivery, regular sales promotions, and an abundance of options with hundreds (in some cases, hundreds of thousands, of reviews).

Mostly, we hope to help to cut through the noise and save you some endless scrolling. So whether you have a penchant for cozy or want the best cooling sheets in organic cotton, bamboo, or linen, we think at least one of these ultra-soft sets will surely strike your fancy.

California Design Den Luxury Sheets

Tested by: Audrey Lee, commerce writer

I was incredibly impressed by the quality of these sheets because they really do feel five-star hotel-level luxurious. Though I was admittedly a little wary at first due to the thickness of the cotton (which read as too hot in my mind), the 1,000-thread count sheets proved to be cool and airy on warmer nights and particularly cozy in cooler temperatures when I paired them with my favorite comforter. And although I don’t typically go for extremely thick, crisp, cotton sheets, I’ve noticed these sheets wear very nicely. They’ve even softened up a bit after a couple of washes, which entices me to use them more.

I would absolutely recommend these sheets as a solid, year-round bedding option. This set can easily transition from season to season, and the lovely all-natural cotton makes it accommodating to any type of sleeper. Overall, the quality itself is top-notch, and I can tell they’re the kind of sheets that will last years before needing to be replaced.

Bamboo Bay Luxury Bamboo Sheets

Tested by: Jordan Goldberg, contributor

I loved the sateen weave set I was using before, and since this was my first time trying bamboo sheets, I was nervous about how they would feel. Straight out of the box, I was impressed with how bright and white the material was and loved the thick band on the top sheet. The material is surprisingly soft. And though they felt a bit rough when I initially touched them, after a wash, they became silky. The material also has the perfect thickness while still being airy and breathable to keep you cool while sleeping. I’ve struggled before with finding fitted sheets that stay tucked underneath both my mattress and memory foam mattress topper; however, the fitted sheet in this set was the perfect size to cover my entire bed and has stayed in place since I originally put it on.

If you’re constantly flipping your pillow to find the cool side, these sheets are for you. They stay cool the entire night, making them great for people with night sweats or those, like me, who just love to sleep in the cold. The bamboo material feels surprisingly close to my sateen sheets, but I am not 100% sure if they are as effective in protecting my sensitive skin.

Mellanni Hotel Luxury 1800 Sheet Set

Tested by: Kristi Kellogg, contributor

The first thing that I noticed about the sheets is that they are much thinner than my usual sheet—but I can totally see how the lightweight, airy, microfiber sheets from Mellanni would be a great choice on super hot nights (or if you just get really hot at night!). As promised, the sheets were super soft and, as an added bonus, wrinkle-resistant.

If you’re looking for a basic sheet at a bargain price, this sheet is a great pick. It’s also available in every size and basically every color you could want, so you’ll definitely be able to find an option that matches the rest of your bedding.

Essentia Organic Cotton Sheet Set

Tested by: Andrea Lewis, assistant to global editorial director

Initially, I was weary about trying cotton sheets as I’ve found that the material can sometimes contribute to my enhanced body heat. I received the Essentia Organic Cotton sheets set in white at the peak of New York summer and—to my surprise—found that these sheets provided the perfect balance between coziness and breathability. I’ve noticed my body fluctuates in temperature quickly and, as a Californian who is new to air conditioning, I found myself shifting between hot and cold throughout the night. The Essentia temperature-regulating sheets perfectly stabilized my body heat as the room temp wavered throughout the night.

For cotton lovers and sleepers with versatile temperatures, I highly recommend these sheets! Not only do they feel good but the brand is combatting chemical exposure by providing stimulant-free products.

Threadmill Celine Hotel Damask Sheets Deep Pocket

Tested by: Livia Caligor, content operations associate

Right off the bat, I was thrilled to see that the set was packaged in a reusable cotton tote, which I now use as a laundry bag. I was also excited to see that the sheets themselves didn’t have the gritty texture or off-white hue of many biodegradable textiles. Instead, they are pristine, and the shiny pattern feels glamorous but still subtle. I was surprised to find that the sheets were little less soft than I’d expected and slightly harder to stretch around my mattress than some of my other sheets. I don’t typically go for stiffer sheets, but I quickly realized that the crisp, smooth feel and durability make up for it. The fabric is cool to the touch, and even when waking up in the middle of the night in my 80-degree sauna of a room, the sheets feel cool and breathable. After a few washes, the fabric became increasingly soft without losing its shine, color, or smoothness, which better suited my preferences.

If you’re a sustainability freak like myself, these sheets are definitely one of the most lavish and accessible options I can imagine coming across. These are definitely for you if you’re into more sturdy, hotel-like sheets. The best part is their versatility–even as a cold sleeper who prefers to bundle up in plush layers, I benefited from the cooling properties and smooth feel of this set, especially in the summer months. Over time, they’ll become the best bed sheets for those who prefer something softer.

Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set

Tested by: Kristi Kellogg, contributor

Boll & Branch sheets are buttery, breathable wonders that make you feel like you’re drifting off to sleep in a five-star hotel. This set of sheets is made of top-tier, organic cotton and is completely chemical-free. The result? The sheets of my dreams. They’re ridiculously soft—so much so that I find myself just rubbing my feet around at the bottom of the bed to feel more sheet action. Not only do they feel good, they also look good—the quality fabric stays wrinkle-free and crisp night after night. I also love the fact that the 17"-deep pocketed fitted sheet is super secure and doesn’t wiggle around. These are definitely among the best sheets I’ve ever had.

Not only do I love them on my own bed, I would happily give these as a housewarming gift. They come tissue-wrapped in gorgeous gift box which gives the entire set the perfect finishing touch. I can’t say enough good things about these. Buy them for yourself, buy them for your friends and family—anyone would be thrilled to sleep on these.

Utopia Bedding King Bed Sheets Set

Tested by: Adriana Rodríguez, contributor

When I took the sheets out of their package, the first thing that caught my attention was the color: It’s wonderful, and the pictures online don’t do justice to the rich lavender I selected. The day the sheets arrived, I washed them and hung them out to dry. To my surprise, the sheets were completely dry in three hours.

The sheets deliver on the softness and breathability that Utopia insists on—at least during the winter. I’m a hot sleeper, but I haven’t had any night sweats sleeping in these sheets. They’re pretty comfortable, and they don’t feel plasticky at all. And the most important thing: They’re not electrostatic. My girlfriend is particularly sensitive to fabrics, and she finds the sheets fresh but not cold. She’s a big fan of the color, and she lovingly strokes the pillowcase every morning. In terms of size, the sheets fit perfectly on my bed. However, I wish the top sheet was a little bit wider so I could tuck it more snugly under the mattress, but it’s nothing to lose sleep over.

I’m pretty satisfied with these sheets because of their color, the feel they have, and how fresh they are. Though the sheet set is yet to pass the biggest test—whether they stay breathable and fresh during hot summer nights or not—overall, this set is a great pick if you’re on a budget and looking for something good that doesn’t feel like plastic.

Bare Home Cotton Flannel Sheet Set

Tested by: Kristi Kellogg, contributor

If you’re looking for flannel sheets, these are a great find. They’re thick and densely woven, and they have the softest feel that is so delicious on a cold night. As someone who is basically always cold, I absolutely love crawling into this cozy set of sheets. It’s also worth mentioning that these eco-friendly sheets are Oeko-Tex certified, and free of any harmful chemicals. They also arrive in a matching tote that is very convenient when you need to store them away.

The sheets are available in more than 15 patterns, including stripes, plaids, and wintery scenes. They’re also available in literally every size (twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, California king, and even split king).

HC Collection Queen Size Sheets Set

Tested by: Kristi Kellogg, contributor

Don’t let the low price point fool you—these are durable and soft microfiber sheets that stand the test of time. After many washings, they’ve maintained their soft feel, and I’ve never experienced any pilling. Another thing I love about them is that they never wrinkle.

Admittedly, these aren’t hotel luxury sheets—but I knew that going in. These are perfect, though, if you’re looking for a good-quality basic. They’re available in a variety of colors, including sage, taupe, white, ice blue, navy, and gray. And, I’m not alone in loving them: this amazing find has more than 62,000 five-star reviews.

Eddie Bauer Cotton Flannel Bedding Set

Tested by: Katarina Kovac, commerce producer

As someone who has never slept on flannel sheets in my life, I was shocked at the extra softness of these as soon as I pulled them out of the bag. I expected them to feel like a flannel shirt: a little bit rough but smooth at the same time. They wildly surpassed my expectations. Once I washed them, they were even softer, and I quickly put them on my bed to try them out. They provide the coziest feeling, as if you’re sleeping between two warm blankets but without making you overheat or sweat thanks to the material being 100% cotton.

I’m a flannel sheet convert thanks to this set from Eddie Bauer and highly recommend them to anyone that wants a cute pattern or material switch up for their bedspread at a really fantastic price point. The quality for the price is unbeatable. These are definitely some of the best sheets on Amazon.

Tested by: David Kaufman, contributor

Like most products from Amazon, the sheets came in the simple square box and arrived in a simple square shape. They were easy to open and pretty easy to fit onto the bed without it becoming a team effort. I slept in them in shorts and a T-shirt, and the sheets were cooling (but not too cool) and quickly reached a neutral, negligible temperature that felt barely there. They were tight on the mattress both the first night I slept on them and the following days when I worked on them. In a word, they worked and worked well—and I immediately wished I’d ordered more.

As long as you aren’t into the wrinkle-free look, these Bedsure sheets were cool and comfortable with a nice dose of chic. Their texture and weaving make them feel premium, like the kind of sheets one might offer guests or use for a special occasion. And since they’re for everyday use, it makes them great for those who like to languish in bed.

Lane Linen 100% Organic, Long-Staple Cotton Queen Sheets (Percale Weave)

Tested by: Kristi Kellogg, contributor

If you're looking for something breathable and cooling, you’ll love this lightweight linen set. It’s a solid set of sheets for summer, and at under $50, it’s a great deal. I love the fact that it’s made of organic cotton (and also Oeko-Tex certified). The fitted sheet measures 15" deep, so it's compatible with most mattresses. Seen here in mineral, the sheet set is available in more than 20 colors, including charcoal, dusty rose, silver, navy, white, and lilac.

Buffy 100% Eucalyptus Lyocell Sheet Set

While eucalyptus sheets are generally hypoallergenic, Buffy’s 300-thread-count set is also colored with natural dyes—made from ingredients like turmeric, gardenia, and pomegranate — to avoid any potential irritants (or harm to the environment). Dyes aside, Clever editor and tester Zoë Sessums finds them “cool-to-the-touch,” “ultrasoft,” and silky smooth. They “only get softer after each wash,” she adds, and the color hasn’t run or faded.

Coyuchi Organic Relaxed Linen Sheet Set

Coyuchi’s cotton and linen sheets are made with organic materials and sustainable manufacturing practices. That’s what piqued the interest of our global features director, Sam Cochran, who tested the brand’s Organic Relaxed Linen Sheets this year. They fit securely over his pillow-top mattress, and it “wasn’t a struggle to get each corner around the bend.” Like most linen sheets, they do require some time to soften up, but the “heavy, quality linen” will be “just dreamy” after a few washes, he assures. Coyuchi offers the Alpine White and Soft Black Chambray colorways on Amazon, but seasonal colors—like the “timeworn” Redwood brown that Sam tested—are only available through the brand website.

If you prefer a drapey, lived-in bedding look, Amazon also carries Linoto’s oversized linen sheets, much beloved by contributor Erika Owen. “I have a full-size bed and the flat sheet does pool over the edge of my mattress and bed frame,” she writes, but “I also love the lived-in look they constantly have, thanks to the easy wrinkling.” They keep her “constantly cool” throughout the night, so much so that she now has trouble falling asleep on non-linen sheets. While they’re more expensive than most linen sheets on this list, they’re also woven from a higher 500-thread-count, making them softer and more durable, and they’re made in upstate New York.

Cozy Earth Oat Queen Sheet Set

Clever editor Audrey Lee is not only a “big fan” of her Cozy Earth loungewear, but also her cooling bamboo-viscose and linen-blend sheets. According to the brand, bamboo viscose fibers are more hollow than cotton, allowing more air (and heat from your body) to pass through while you sleep. While the linen-bamboo set is only available from the brand’s website, you can buy the bamboo viscose sheets directly from Amazon, which ship for free. They’re “super light and airy,” Audrey writes, making them ideal for warmer months or for hot sleepers, and they “cling to my mattress like a dream.”

Brooklyn-based Brooklinen may very well be our most-recommended bedding brand to date, especially when it comes to cotton sheets. It’s a favorite of Clever editor Rachel Fletcher, who was quickly wooed by the brand’s cotton Luxe Starter Sheet Set. “I'm a hot sleeper with sensitive skin and they're really cool on my skin at night, which is a huge relief,” she writes. And unlike other lower-end cotton sets she’s tried, they wash well and are “smooth and not at all scratchy.” (They’re also free of skin-irritating chemicals.) If the Amazon-available neutrals aren’t what you’re looking for, you can find the full range of colorways (and the linen sheet sets) on the brand’s website.

Sheets & Giggles 100% Eucalyptus Lyocell Sheet Set

When Clever tester Kristi Kellogg needed a new set of sheets, she took to Amazon (and read dozens upon dozens of reviews), before landing on this eucalyptus-lyocell set from Sheets + Giggles: “They’re billed as super soft, hypoallergenic, moisture-wicking, and naturally cooling… [and] they also come with a lifetime warranty,” she writes. “How can you go wrong?” After testing them for several sleeps, she reports that they have a “smooth, silky feel that is, really, nothing like a regular cotton sheet.” They’re breathable and stay cool-to-the-touch, and are “super refreshing” even on sweltering summer nights.

Sijo Premium 100% Austrian Eucalyptus Lyocell Tencel Sheet Set

Sijo’s eucalyptus-lyocell sheets have a slightly lower thread count than the set above, giving them a lighter weight and more relaxed look. (They are, however, just as cooling.) They have “an almost liquid, viscose kind of feel,” writes tester Rachel Fletcher, that’s akin to “sleeping on a perfectly worn in vintage T-shirt that also keeps you from getting sweaty.” Unlike cotton sheets, they have a satiny shine and “don’t cling to every corner,” making them especially ideal for those who prefer their sheets untucked. Plus, they’re hypoallergenic, as well as asthma- and allergy-friendly certified.
